Arrangement of 'Sea-foam' and 'Moonlight' movements from Frank Bridge's orchestral suite The sea (H 100, 1919-1911). Three movements from the same suite were arranged earlier for two pianos: see Bridge: The sea (Dec 1930).
The arrangement of 'Moonlight' only was performed on 9 July 1934, with Britten on the piano and Charles Coleman on the organ at St. John's Church, Lowestoft. Mr Coleman was the organist of the church. The programme also included other Britten arrangements for organ and piano: the first movement of Tchaikovsky: Concerto for piano (ca. Jul 1934) and Mozart: Finale of symphony in E flat (Jun-Jul 1934).
Britten does not mention a performance of the 'Sea-foam' movement.
