The first line of text is from an unknown source.
The location for the original manuscript of this piece is currently unknown. The photographed copy held at the Britten-Pears Foundation was used for some kind of exhibition in conjunction with the release of the film Love from a stranger, for which Britten wrote the music, in 1937 (Love from a stranger). A page from Do you no that my Daddy has gone to London today was also displayed at this exhibition.
